Caste system
Across the various realms of the Solar lords many differences can be seen in people, places and nature. There are some things however that are identical owing to the Solar Lords innate pleasure in order. The caste system developed over many ages and approved by the Lords themselves is intended as a means to separate the successful and influential in degrees. Money and ownership of land do not guarantee one a high position in any society, high status can come at a variety of prices but all of them are earned one way or another. The system was agreed upon by all the larger nations and bled into most of the smaller nations, the more democratic nations did not require this system. Democracy was an oderly system that did not offend any Solar Lord and was permitted. The system was used to divide lands into manageable areas with local government, there are 7 classes among most empires, the Red Crown has one class that others do not.
Noble: Nobles are strictly from the Crown and have a history rooted in the Gregollis family history that stretches back three hundred years. Nobles are all related to the gregollis bloodline, the only bloodline ever to have Gen mod and human blood. The Church of Gastel considers the Gregollis bloodline an abomination and heresy, for this reason they’ve been at war for ages. Unlike normal Gen mods the Gregollis line has only one mutation. They radiate an aura of grace and have flawless skin, they are swift and agile much more so than a Gen mod. At night their radiance provides a slight glow like moonlight and their voices have a gentle echoing in the mind. Nobles however do suffer from one terrible weakness, there is a ceremony they must undergo once every eighty hours or face the wrath of Veah. Nobles carry the same rights as both a Paladin and a Tenne-Izent. Though in terms of standing with royalty they are above Tenne-Izent’s
Tenne-Izent: Lords of great swathes of land anointed by the highest authority in government. Tenne-Izent or “Tens” as common folk often call them are the highest privileged beings and have some of the highest responsibilities. Tenne-Izent derived from the Solar tongue phrase “Keeper of lands”. They govern over Mining facilities, Ocean colonies and worlds. They are granted the right to issue permits to Varosh businessmen. The authority to marshal military forces for defensive purposes and request assistance from other realms of their nation. They have the right to permit any number of civilian events and assign judicial positions to qualified law practitioners, they may construct additional cities and employ Varosh. A Tenne-Izent is also granted the right to construct military facilities
Paladin: Paladins are strictly of the military side of management, though they do have many perks in civilian life. On the military side Paladins are Marshals of entire fleets, armies and military bases. They have the right to manage military funds, public security, GATE oversight and policing civilians. Paladins on the civilian side have the right to own large portions of land for residential purposes, servants, reduced prices for civilian products (covered by the government usually) and the right to have livestock.
Thane: Varosh class are businessmen and land owners, barons of wealth that make up a driving economic force in all empires. They own land and have rights to exploit resources, employ lesser classes, construct for industrial or commercial purposes and doing business with entities outside borders. They also have the right to govern over small areas such as cities, colony districts and new settlements. They have the right to collect taxes according to the Tenne-Izent’s set rate. They have the right and obligation to construct, prepare land, secure resources and manage city finances.
Knight: Knights make up a massive portion of most professional, large military forces, most follow the "order of Boromach-1" a code passed down through the ages and named after a Coded Knight and heroic figure. Knights live some of the most dangerous lives along with Linemen, in times of conflict they are the first on the front and representative of their nations might as the tip of the spear. Knights are granted the right to own small areas of land for residence though larger than lesser classes, they have the right to one servant and one apprentice should they so choose. They are given preferential treatment when applying for ship and machina licences.
Lineman: The lowest of the military ranks are not too far above the common class Linemen share similar rights and responsibilities of commoners. Linemen make up the bulk of all powerful nations, they are the frontline fodder the hordes of soldiers standing in lines before their commanding Knight and Paladin. Linemen unlike commoners have the right to subsidized apartment complexes exclusively for Linemen. They receive additional income when active in service (combat, policing, disaster recovery).
Common class: Permitted to own very small areas of land strictly for the purpose of having a residence of their own, working a variety of manual labor and technical jobs. The common class is as described, they are the largest bulk of all the classes and makes up most of what one would encounter in every day life. The common class have the same rights as Paupers but with the addition of being able to own two residential properties, the right to banking services and the right to produce for small sales. This means essentially the right to have a small ma and pop business.
Pauper: Not every empire has work for all it’s people, the wax and wane of wealth among the various empires can have negative results on the people Paupers are the lowest class of citizen technically besides criminals. Those that own no land and work the most uncomfortable jobs in their nations. Waste management, gas mining facilities, asteroid mining facilities, servants ect. This isn’t to say the life of the lower class is intolerable, fraught with constant danger or without it pleasures. It’s still possible to live a good but hard-working life as a Pauper, in some cases and in some nations, there are programs to help keep even the impoverished employed.
