”State your name for the record, please.”
"Did you miss the part where I explained that I literally don't know? Or are you being intentionally obstinate?" The small woman with pale brown hair looks up at the physician, only to shake her head at him, before returning her gaze to the table and continuing to apply an ice-pack to her forehead.
”Cape name as well.”
She sighs, seeming to be putting her attitude away for the moment.
"I still don't know what that is," she answers defeatedly. "Just call me... Elena, I guess."
”How old are you?”
"I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd say I'm in my early twenties," she mumbles. Medical analyses suggest that Elena is about twenty-two.
”Why become a hero/villain?
"Who are you to designate what makes a hero or a villain? Who am I, for that matter? Is there some sort of registry I'll have to sign up for once I decide? Is there a standard hero/villain litmus test I have to pass to show you I'm a good guy? Or is the state of my morality all up to your personal judgment?"
”Do we have anything to worry about from you?”
"I have no stake in your war, if that's what you're asking me. But I'll always stand up for what I think is right. So I guess it depends. Are you doing anything wrong? Do I have anything to worry about from you?"
Any affiliations we should know about?
"Well, my home planet shipped me here in a shoddily crafted space pod, and I didn't have any time to bond with the squirrels that found me, so that's gonna be a hard no."
Physicians Notes
Elena seems to be suffering from a perpetual headache. She is underweight and moves slowly, almost as if movement causes her considerable pain. If she is released, I would recommend providing her with a wheelchair.
Power Analysis
Elena is wearing a pair of white gloves that go up to her elbows.
"What are these for?" The physician reaches for her hands.
"Don't touch me!" She immediately jerks her hands away. This is the most agility she has demonstrated at any point in the conversation.
"Okay. Care to explain why you're so averse to touch?"
"I'm fine with it. As long as you're fine with the rapid memory loss that will happen."
This is consistent with the notes that were provided in a fire-safe compartment of the pod in which she was found. Making contact with Elena results in memory erasure. This can be controlled, to an extent, if the person who is touched focuses on a particular memory during the process. However, if the touch is prolonged, then additional memories may be lost. Using the ability does no harm to Elena.
Her ability resulted from the use of an experimental compound. Though the intention was to erase Elena's memories, the prolonged exposure seems to have caused Elena's body to produce and secrete the compound, allowing Elena herself to erase the memories of others.
She can erase about a day's worth of memories per minute, as her body needs time to secrete the compound.
Psych analysis.
Elena does not appear to be an immediate threat, but she is unstable. Despite being unable to remember much of her past, she appears to harbor quite a bit of anger. This is largely untapped, but if she were to find some motivation, I believe that she would quickly become a force to be reckoned with due to her suppressed emotions. My fear is that it is hard to know what she is capable of because she knows nothing of our planet or even of herself. But she could quickly form notions about our society and allegiances, simply based on whatever her first experiences on this planet may be. She is like a child, impressionable and hungry for guidance, in an adult body.
Personality-wise, Elena behaves like a person who is naturally kind but who has simply had enough. She is not shy about making snide comments, but all of them are rather tame, and she quickly becomes apologetic if she feels she has gone too far. She carries herself as if she were a teacher or a leader in her former life. She exudes an aura of confidence and authority despite not knowing who she is. This seems to be a curated facade, as she has also shown many glimpses of fear and uncertainty.
