The Looks
The Personality
Crom Cruach is a husk of a being; a manifestation of entropy and darkness, and yet, in this chaos, she can also be the antithesis to herself as well at various times. Essentially, her base personality is hollow, but she can take on aspects of other people.
The Story
Crom Cruach has existed for thousands of years, if not longer, but it is said that she was born from the shadows cast from the dying embers of man's first flame, while others claim that she predates the world and that she herself gave birth to shadows and night.
Whatever her true origins were, since then she has sought to create opposition in all things. While this causes her to be an antagonist much of the time, it can also cause her to be a protagonist on occasion, as she will oppose just about anything for no other reason than to cause said opposition. She seeks to understand and give meaning to life through this.
[The true origin of Hecate Hel'Forbaerna, is that she is a member of an extraterrestrial race of energy beings known as the Daeva, an unfathomably ancient race that was once one and the same with the Amesha, the Daeva also see themselves as shepherds of life, but they go about this task far differently than their sister race, for they see opposition as the means to perpetuate the survival of life. The strong will survive, and to be made strong, life requires opposition. Chaos is the natural order, and Indara sees herself as a disciple of that order.]
The Powers
Born of Shadow and Fire: Hecate's form is largely incorporeal, and as such, is unaffected by most physical attacks. This allows her to utilize shadows or fire to travel quite swiftly, so long as two shadows or fires are connected, almost like swimming through a dark stream. She can heal herself using these too if given time. (Depends on the amount of shadowself she has lost.) Touching fire will cause her to enter her inverted fire form.
Fire's/Shadow's Grasp: While in her shadow form, Hecate can manipulate shadows into becoming tangible, allowing her to affect a person by affecting their shadow, seemingly lifting someone or something with telekinesis when in reality, she is gripping their shadow. Utilizing this ability, she can lift up to roughly 3 tons, with effort. (This touch can particularly harm beings weak to darkness or spirit based attacks.) While in her fire form, she can manipulate fire in this way, causing spirit and fire damage.
Fire/Shadow Puppets: She can utilize her umbrakinetic/pyrokinetic abilities to create fire or shadow puppets of sorts, depending on her current form. These are like little mini-versions of herself that are far weaker.
Eyes of Crom: Crom's sight is supernatural, and she can see metaphysical things, such as auras and the like, and in fact, they emit light themselves while in her shadow form, though this is firelight.
Dark Reflection: She can utilize this ability to become the antithesis to something that is observed. (For instance, if she were to observe a hero with ice powers, she would become a villain with inverted ice powers, creating red ice that burned instead of froze things.)
The Items
Hecate does not really possess any items of note, but she sometimes disguises herself as a normal person, often in a mask and long clothing to shield her from the light.
The RP Mechanics
Living Darkness: While utilizing her shadow themed abilities, Hecate does not cast a shadow herself, due to her being one, but her clothes can, and shadows seem darker in her vacinity.
Living Fire: While utilizing her fire themed abilities, Hecate's form inverts, causing her body to be seemingly made of flame and her eyes to be globes of darkness.
The Weaknesses
Born of Shadow and Fire: Light that cuts off her connection to interceding shadows nullifies her ability to use them, and dousing a fire she is using with harm her. Without something to shade her from unfiltered light (such as sunlight), she is harmed by prolonged exposure to it, which tears at her wispy and smoke-like true form. (Firelight does not affect her in this manner.) She cannot utilize fire abilities while in shadow form, and vice-versa, and while in her fire form she is vulnerable to harm from things that douse fire. This switching from shadow to fire form is involuntary as well, and can be used against her to cut off her connection to her shadow abilities, nullifying them temporarily. She can not utilize her other abilities while she is trying to regenerate her ghost-like form.
Fire's/Shadow's Grasp: Any interceding unfiltered light can weaken or nullify Shadow's Grasp altogether, and dousing fire that is utilized for this ability will harm Hecate.
Fire/Shadow Puppets: Her puppets are, as mentioned, far weaker. They cannot utilize Shadow's Grasp for anything more than grabbing things themselves, and they can only lift roughly 10 lbs each. In addition, though they are smaller, their eyes are just as big as Crom's, and can be targeted just the same to destroy them. Also, it takes a full post to create them, during which time they only come into being and cannot act. Her puppets that she creates match her current form as she makes them.
Eyes of Crom: Crom's eyes are the only truly physical parts of her being, as they are actually glittering, transparent, crystalline spheres that seem to be constantly burning like candles in her shadow form. These can be attacked and potentially destroyed while she is not passing through shadow, leaving her partially blind if one is destroyed. If both are destroyed, Crom is banished and effectively dead for the rest of the thread. (It takes 24 hours for her to restore her form and eyes if this occurs, and she switches base forms during this regeneration process, taking the form of a small flame with dark holes where her eyes were.) Her eyes or head can also be stolen to exert some level of control over her, if someone can find a container of some kind to keep them in, traditionally a lantern or bottle of some kind. This weakness effects her fire and shadow puppets too, which can also have their heads stolen. She is somewhat powerless while contained in this manner.
Dark Reflection: When acting as the antithesis of someone, she also copies a dark inverse of their weaknesses as well. These stack with her own weaknesses, which remain. Also, as a draw back of this ability, she cannot view herself in a mirror without the ability malfunctioning as she tries to become the antithesis of herself, causing light to tear at her from seemingly nowhere, and this feedback can produce small shockwaves of force in the vacinity.
