Stopping the truck took a lot of concentration and skill. If Devola had applied to much pressure, she might have just torn the bumper clean off. Apply to little, and she would have been dragged along behind the truck as it took an off road trip through the woods. The move was executed as best it good, but in that brief moment, the tires continued moving while the truck remained still. This caused a cloud of dirt to be kicked into the air, limiting Bee’s vision. Even when the tires had stopped, the cloud remained. Devola released the bumper right away.
Bee’s first instinct was to run over to the driver side door and pull the woman out of the vehicle. But as she moved out of the dust cloud, it was made very obvious that the woman had fled on foot. The Trucks door sat, bent in the middle, on the ground. This woman was certainly strong. This got Devola’s Aeteran blood pumping. Any opportunity to have a decent fight was enough to excite Bee. There was just one problem. The woman was no where in sight. She could have easily ran off in any direction. It was also definitely dark enough that she wouldn’t have been noticeable to the naked eye.
This meant Devola had to do the one thing she didn’t like doing. Using her infrared vision mode, while flying. “Ugh, I really wish there was a better way to do this.” she mumbled to herself as she slowly rose into the air. Reaching up with her right hand, the young Aeteran would click a button on the side of her helmet. The dark sea of trees below her was illuminated in a blue hue. Several blotches of reds and orange were scattered about. “Nothing but wildlife...” she once again mumbled to herself while her golden eyes scanned the surrounding area.
After several seconds of looking at the forest below, one solitary figure stood out. There were just south of the trucks position. For some reason Bee cursed herself for being dumb enough to think the woman would have ran in any other direction. Even if there was the possibility. It just made more sense that the empowered runaway would have jut bolted in the easiest direction. After turning her hold body to be facing in the direction of the woman, Bee disengaged the enhanced vision on her helmet and flew to her new destination.
Devola’s fancy armored boots would produce a small tap as they connected with the ground upon her arrival. The woman was just a few feet away. There was nowhere to go. The woman looked serious. And her stance told Bee that she was ready to jump. Definitely the type that didn’t like going down without a fight, or being captured alive. Though given the nights previous encounter, Bee doubted that even this fall would cause to much harm for the woman that stood before her. Rather than approach the woman, Devola chose to play a different game. One that took a jab at the woman’s ego. “Seriously? That’s how you want to end things? Losing to me then leaving things unsettled by leaping off a cliff? I thought you were some sort of hard ass or something!”
